Negatives of Walk-In Tubs | eHow

these would be my two reservations - the size of the water heater and the potential for the door leaking. I wouldn't install one of these without also installing a floor drain in the bathroom. Just in case.

Also, you have to be sitting in the tub while it fills and while it drains. Brrr.
A floor drain is an excellent idea, but here is one with a Lifetime Warranty that I forgot to add!

Safe Step Walk-In Tubs

I don't think sitting in the tub while filling or draining would bother me. My place now has electric radiant ceiling heat so every surface is toasty warm.Would love it to be the only type of heat I ever have again!
If not, then I feel covering with a towel until the water level is up is well worth it to be able to soak, again.

Thank you for the excellent article! I saved it with my other walk-in tub info.

Awww, many of us are. Did you know that it takes about a 60 gallon hot water tank for one? Just something to keep in mind.Having one is like having one of those big garden tubs, only they are vertical instead of horizontal.

Walk in tubs are really good for senior citizens. They are basically designed for their use only.

Well considering that most serious home injuries/falls happen in bathrooms,I think more people should consider them!

Default Walk in shower

I don't know about the combo. But, I know a website which provides walk in showers for elderly at affordable prices. These walks in showers are available in different styles and designs. You can check this page http://www.bathesafely.co.uk
