I've had a front loading washer and had to look up the kind you're talking about. I see how low some are now. What I also see is that they are shown with the drip pan a couple of inches out from the machine which then allows access it seems. Can you get a larger drip pan? I've seen oversized ones 31x36". You also don't need them to hug the machine. And realistically I can't see any drip pan holding water if the whole thing were to let loose anyway. I do know there are some condos that require drip pans.
In that situation, I would look for some legs for the machine. They may be an option on your make and model. If not, you can probably find something that works.
Most front loaders have the option to buy a pedestal. If you go back to the store where you bought the machine and get a pedestal that should give you plenty of height.
