I have a DR with white wainscotting and heavy white crown molding. Currently I have wall paper in deep blue with jewel tone flowers that I am removing. I do want to go back with a current updated blue. The room doesn't get much natural light, mostly lights from chandlier and lamps. Any feedback appreciated or suggestions
Narrowed it down to 5..
BM Van deusen blue
SW Smoky Blue,
SW Bracing Blue
SW downpour
SW leisure blue
Really stuck. They are all pretty but which is the most current updated blue? Feedback much appreciated!

Foyer next to it is in SW Latte.

I'd choose the blue that talks and plays well with the Latte color.

What do you have on your floors for materials and colors?

I am leaning towards the Leisure Blue, seems more modern and versatile if you change your furnishings and window coverings.

I know you have to choose what you like in paint colors but I also understand the OP 's question. You don't want someone coming to your house and saying...I love your dining room - it is so 70's! It is especially important if selling is in the future. It is also a good time to give yourself a fresh perspective on color. It is easy to get rut.

I would check out the web sites for the larger paint brands like BM or SW - they normally have what the big colors are for the year along with some inspiration pictures. Once I find a color I think I like, I do a search for images with that color room to get a better idea of it is for me.

Good Luck to you - choosing color can sometimes be overwhelming.

If the room does not get a lot of natural light, I'd go with a very pale shade of blue.. if that is your color of choice.

One with a slight green cast to it will help brighten the room as well.

Robin egg blue is very light, almost a neutral, but a classic that seems to never go out of "style." It plays well with others too. It would look yummy with a soft latte and white trim. It might be too pale with a deeper latte or not deep enough if the trim is a deep cream. But with a soft palette, it's a beautiful timeless touch.

That's what I have in my bedroom with bright white hi gloss millwork. Carpeting is neutral taupe.

I love the color play in different lighting during the day.
