a beer ... no seriously we've just survived 4 weeks of out of town visitors, a 3,000 mile round trip to Sturgis SD and right now nothing is on the honeydoo list.

Maybe next week I'll get back to doing something constructive.

Met with our contractor to nail down the details of the kitchen redo, and we're waiting for the bid! Going Monday to pick out soapstone for the counters and a farmhouse sink - WOOHOO!

GOOD GRIEF, I just stepped through the ceiling of my kitchen from the attic when I tripped up there! So our decision is made - gotta paint the ceiling. Dang it...or not dang it...

I have to get rid of clothing and accumulation of things from my attics.. I have two attics and almost have one empty and the other has more in it. I have storage in one attic to hang clothing and I have to get rid of most of it . Give me a closet I will fill it.. give me an attic I will fill it.. well , I am stretching it. But I have some side tables, lamps, dressers that have to go. I have already given headboards, some furniture away and have to get rid of more. Less is more.

Well, be careful while you're up in that attic and don't do what I did yesterday:

Yes. That is my kitchen ceiling, right below my attic. Look in the top right corner of the photo.

Grrrrrrr.

Don't feel bad, my fabric wall was $18.99 from guru...way too much.
I need to paint a bit this weekend, and put down some mulch, but I think we'll play some hooky and do some fun things for a change.
Baseball game and fireworks tomorrow, and then, who knows.
Can't wait to see it all! Yikes on the $18.99, but I understand when you find something that just works perfectly.

I guess it's ok to laugh since you didn't get hurt . My b-i-l did that when they were moving, except his foot went all the way through. Wasn't funny at the time, but we laugh about it now. Oh well, you probably wanted that ceiling painted anyway.

Oops! I hope that's the worst thing that happens.

LOL yes, it's OK - we were laughing about it by the end of the day! And yes, I wanted the ceiling painted so it's all good!

LOL right, you and me both.

The ironic thing was that we had JUST met with our contractor about redoing the kitchen, and we had discussed the ceiling and my husband hadn't been too keen on spending the money to paint the ceiling. Now it gets new sheet rock AND new paint.

Good you weren't hurt. Maybe you need some plywood down in the attic.

Friend of mine went through to her waist. Not fun.

Make sure you cover vents and close off doorways with plastic or you will have dust everywhere when you sand that ceiling.
