Thinking about picking these up but would like some insight. They will be put in a screened patio

In a screened in patio they will be fine. "Screened in" typically means also roofed over. As long as you have cross ventilation, they won't collect dust as one said. I like them.

I'm not a fan. And they don't look like they'd stand up to the elements at all.

Well - I have a screened porch and it DOES collect dust - crazy to say otherwise, things blow through the screening. I would NEVER have a lamp(s) that looks like something for the living room (w/a fabric shade) outside. Things MUST be rated as safe for the outdoors (humidity, etc.)

This.

It's not about style, it's about proper function. Our lanai gets crazy amounts of dust, pollen, etc. Fabric shades would be bad just for that alone. But add in wetness - and it doesn't have to be rain, just humidity - and unless the fabric is an outdoor fabric, it'll mold/mildew.

Then you must have a wet area electrical rating for safety.
