We got rid of the over-sized refrigerator, range, and humongous round dark pine table. The 20 year old vinyl floor cover (faded and ugly) is gone, and we selected this gray pattern that has a cushy fiberglass backing. I've very happy with the way this turned out. It seems bright and cheerful now. I am looking for a 36" x 36" white daisy with maybe an off white background, canvas painting, to put on that wall where the table is. I think I'll be awhile finding exactly what I'm looking for. Anybody have any other suggestions for that wall? This house is about 130 years old, maybe more. We've been here 35 years.
It does look very bright! Amazing what a few small(ish) changes can make to a space.
If you're very specific about what you want and have a good idea of explaining how you want it to look, could you commission the painting from a local artist, or even art student?
It wouldn't be complex, so even a talented high school art student could do a great job of it.
Very cute. I wouldn't overthink it, just keep what you want in mind and when visiting stores with prints keep your eyes peeled for something that has the elements you are looking for and that you love.
I agree and that will make the canvas really pop!!!
The issue is, this house has old cracked plaster walls. The wallpaper camouflages that. When I picked this pattern, I had to consider the shape those walls were in. I toyed with plainer, muted wide stripes, and that emphasized the cracks and flaws in the walls. One thing leads to another, doesn't it?

I like your idea for a big painting of a daisy. Check out the frameless paintings at Pier 1 and places like TJ Maxx and Ross and Marshalls.
