I don't use them, either. I use a peppermill and a salt cellar filled with coarse sea salt.

Interesting that you are supposed put in pepper in the one with more holes. All the labeled or colored ones for pepper only have one hole while the ones for salt had more.
I always thought the 'tell' was pepper went with the larger holes, regardless of number?

But, like you, I'll stick with my grinder and cellar for both cooking and at the table

Truth be told, I'm afraid to get "good" shakers for fear I'll begin collecting them.
My cheapies are clear but I took the pole with the correct answer anyway. DUH. Salt, more holes, pepper, fewer holes.

I rarely use my salt & pepper shakers. But I did check the one with more holes has the salt in it.

I use the All Spice sold at Trader Joe's. Comes with its own grinder.

Yup! The salt shakers should have NO holes

I have grinders for both. They are from Aldi, and both are transparent. No confusion in my home
