I work too much to do a lot of outdoor lighting for Christmas and my dad can only handle hanging a few lights so would you look at this pic I found and tell me if you all think hanging the type lights featured ONLY over the front area of the house will look unfinished or odd? My front porch is similar to the one in pic and keeping in mind I have some really pretty things and pretty good ideas about the decorating that area.
ALSO--what are your thoughts on silk poinsettias vs real ones as our temps are very cold here.
I HATE "icicle" light strings. It just screams gaudy, redneck!
And the bluish LED ones just reinforce that thought and add "cheap bastard" to the list.
The rest of it looked nice- small trees flanking and the garland wrap. Simplicity is elegance!
I like it! I think decorating just the front porch is perfectly fine. That's all I plan to do outside myself!
cool!! with what type lighting?

awww.................I love the icicle ones-the clear or white ones though--no other colors.
Looks great to me. That's about all I ever do. It's gets too cold too fast up here for me to make anymore out of it. In fact one year I got those little lit tree and the snow kept piled up over them, so not using them anymore either.
