My entertainment center is not decorated the way the picture is. It's a lot less busy. Plus I have glass doors on my outside pieces so when the doors are closed the things. I found a picture taken as we were packing up the TV room in preparation for replacing the carpet with hardwoods:

Excuse the mess of the room - I took this as a "before" picture when we redid the floors (sadly, never took an "after" pic - I need to do that). And I was wrong in my last post. We don't have plantation shutters in there - just regular wood shades. The random white wire is also not normal - we hooked up a temporary antenna to the TV since we had to unhook all the electronics and get them out of the cabinet in preparation for the furniture to be moved the following morning. The fireplace mantel is normally not that cluttered - we normally just have the two lamps and the framed scroll from our wedding. Also, we opted NOT to put the curtains back up once we put down the hardwood floors - the windows are now bare, with just the shutters.

So, the games you see stacked in front of the fireplace were just some of the games we had on top of the entertainment center - those are all now in the lower right cabinet of the entertainment center, completely hidden. The Wii (which you see behind the right glass door) is also now hidden. Having doors on the those outer cabinets means that the contents remain relatively hidden unless the lights in those cabinets are turned on (we only turn them on when we have company over).

I know most of you said keep it empty, but you can see that if I keep it empty, that is one boring wall, large entertainment center notwithstanding.

that's a bit flatter across the top than the photo you originally posted. Given the specifics, I'd go with a large single piece or grouping in the center, and leave the tops of the side cabinets empty - presumably you are putting decorative pieces in the glass front upper cabinets, so you don't need additional pieces competing with that.

Something along these lines.

Yeah, I couldn't find a picture of my exact cabinet online - that was the closest I could find from the same manufacturer.
