Wonderful room!

I'd want to create as much space in there as possible, and would probably go for a trundle bed with a pop-up mattress underneath for when you had a guest - something simple like this: http://www.amazon.com/Twin-Black-Ste...604969&sr=1-21. Throw a bedspread over it and pillows in the back so it's a sofa during the day.

Getting rid of the big bed would really open up the space.

Multi purpose convertible furniture with a lot of storage would be a good place to start. Look this page over http://www.pinterest.com/explore/convertible-furniture/

Default Decor

This is a challenge but I love it. I assume you are in a year round warm climate. First, throw out the bed and get a futon. That way you have a bed and a couch. put that up against the bare wall across from the doors. Next, I would put the doors back on for privacy. You can use frosted contact paper on the windows of the door so you can close them and still get lots of light. In the closet you can get an old dresser and put it in the closet for socks and underwear and such. You can get shutter doors for the closet. But before all of that, paint the room a warm summer color like cool mint green. You could look for a futon with storage under it to put bedding when not in use. Get an old trunk, large, paint it a light beach color for in front of the futon and you can store stuff in it too. You might want to put shelve up over the couch to put some of your things that you like to display on. Next to the closet you can get a small microwave cart and microwave. On that 9 foot wall you can put a small entertainment cabinet and put in the tv, stereo, video games and such. Utilize that outside space with bench seating, table and chairs for eating meals and entertaining. Home depot sells Hard Tupperware like storage cabinets for the outside. You could use that for things to store as well. All that would be left is maybe a nice little area rug and some stuff on the walls. Do you have a bathroom? Didn't see any in the pic.
