Well, I have black cats and there's no way I'd change the stain on my light oak floors. There's a reason some things have become classic.

I bought my condo about a year and a half ago and it has Brazilian cherry wood floors. It's the first home I've had that had wood floors, and I had no idea that they show every speck of dust there is!! I sweep every single day, vacuum about twice a week, and still it always seems dusty. I usually don't use the swifter, because it seems to just work the dust around without actually picking it up. Also, if you walk around in your socks, you leave footprints all over! I love the look and feel of my wood floors, but had no idea they were so hard to maintain.

This is why I went with no stain and satin poly despite knowing other option may have looked better when clean.
