As I just posted elsewhere. I had a bad experience with Valspar Signature. It was a dark color over white, and it failed to cover well. It cost over $30.
We returned it and got Behr from HD. It covered great.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm renting an apartment-not from a private LL and I have painted several times in the past but that was MY house in NC so I bought Ralph Lauren for that.

I'm assuming that if I like a color I see at HD I can take it to Lowes and have them match it and vice versa??

Yes you can, but be careful because the people mixing paint are prone to mistakes. Sometimes you'll go back to get more paint tinted and it'll come out a slightly different shade because they put in slightly different numbers. This sucks to find out when you roll some on the wall and it doesn't match the rest of the room. Keep your paint can lid.

I'm thinking a can of paint per room will do. It's just one wall in each or maybe I'll just paint the whole bedroom and have just the accent in living room. I can't really say until I get in there on the 16th. Can't wait (as my neighbors are being aholes right now)

Yes. Valspar is Lowe's, Behr is HD.
