It feels the same as cooking all new recipes for a dinner party....kind of like the Suzy Homemaker version of living on the edge LOL.
OP,

I know Overstock usually ships their rugs very quickly - so you might have received it by now. How do you like the rug and was the color what you expected it to be?

I got it and I like it, but I'll like it a lot more after I cover the chair cushions and replace the curtains. I think once the room evolves it will be OK.

I haven't gotten to all the replies yet, but I have to say: Yes, I am like you! I don't think I'd ever be able to pick a rug without seeing it in person. It's impossible to feel the texture of the rug on-line or see the true colors. I have sometimes bought smaller versions of the rug (at say, Macy's or Bed/Bath), brought them home to try out and then returned as necessary. I just can't know for sure until I see it in the room with the rest of the furniture and especially artwork.

Exactly.
Now I'm going through the same thing again with curtains. I keep bringing them home and taking them back. I have some coming from Wayfair, so I'm crossing my fingers. Also have swatches from fabric.com for the chairs.

I did the very same with two pairs of curtains from ebay... beautiful teal and white lined voile for my bedroom but when they came they were more ivory and jade... and they dont match the wallpaper or the room... and the others are darker than I thought with a mulberry shade in faux silk, so now Ive gave up and ordered silver grey faux silk which are beautiful... got it right at last..
