why are all issues and repairs with a home so complicated these days?...i don't recall my grandmothers having such issues with little things..
Blinds that wide are going to sag in the middle. Try 2 40" butted to gether.

She would get a line of light in between.

I'm in the process of ordering blinds for my home and one of my windows is 71 inches wide. Head rails are capable of housing two or three blinds. Yes, still heavy, but they're operated separately. I'm ordering from blinds.com and the Bali brand as they're on sale right now through May 10 and comparable with their sale price to the blinds.com. They aren't inexpensive (as least not in my opinion), but I haven't had new blinds in forever, so ...

I also recommend blinds.com.
I've bought custom blinds for windows of odds sizes a few times from them.
They are reasonably priced.

We didn't get a line in between. You can hang them so close that they look like one if they are all opened the same amount. Our windows were 3 separate panes in one frame, if that makes sense. No light came in between the blinds because the windows were already split there. I'll see if I can find a photo (old thread, I know). We just got them at Home Depot and my husband hung them.

Not necessarily as it depends on the window. I just had new windows put in and in the center of my 79" wide window which is, basically, two windows looking like one, there is an area about 4" wide in the center, so no light would show through on mine.

I also am buying the routeless style (no holes) and trust those will keep out much light and avoid the 'peep holes' per se.

Bali Wood Images 2" Composite Wood Blinds
This. My new window is one unit, about 65" wide, divided to look/operate as two separate windows. I will probably go with 2 blinds because they're easier to install (I will do it myself). I'm debating about putting blinds on the two wide second floor windows. One has an awning, so I don't have to worry about keeping light out, and the other other faces north. I'm thinking just curtains I can draw will be good enough.
