I always like the look of framed vintage movie posters. Its not like the OP is wanting to decorate his apartment with Transformer posters.
This.
Posters that are unframed, or so many posters displayed that they overwhelm the other design elements = tacky and juvenile.
Movie posters specifically chosen for their artistic qualities, and framed and displayed accordingly = classy!
Have fun decorating, OP! You've got to hang something on the walls, it might as well be something that you love. That's what successful decorating is all about: incorporating the things that you love into a space in a visually pleasing way.
I'm 28 male screenwriter living in Los Angles. I've always had a tendency to decorate my apartments with framed movie posters. I just moved into a new one bedroom apartment, and I'm in the process of decorating. I started thinking am I too old to decorate most of the walls in framed movie posters? Is this tacky? So far they are all framed vintage classic movies. One of the prints is a classic Sean Connery Bond by his car. My living room is an over-dyed red oriental rug with leather couch and glass coffee table. Thanks to anyone who can offer input.
You should decorate to suit you. I don't think you are too old to use classic movie posters, especially since you really like them. Go for it.

I still miss my college poster of a movie. Too bad there was a religious rule demanding a plain wall and no stuff-animals, no action figures............. could I collect the stamps?
Classic movie poster (or a few well selected pieces) nicely framed and displayed then used as part of a well thought out decorating theme could be very cool and grown up.
A bunch of tattered posters thumb tacked to the wall - not so much.
Vintage advertising posters, nicely framed, are also very attractive and stylish I used this one in my kitchen at the time, since I had some cobalt blue and orange decorative accent pieces in there.
Some movie posters sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars. If they are from classic / iconic movies they really are more like art than advertising. Just be sure you frame them, ideally all in the same kind of frames. I think they look best in modern black wood frames (or chrome if you want that retro-70's vibe).

Most expensive movie poster ever.
I framed a repro of this, before the original sold for 1.2 MILLION DOLLARS. I have it in an art deco style frame with a bronze finish. The framing cost a fortune, much more than the poster. Mine was cheap, but I can't afford the original.
It's not everyone's taste, but I loved it. There's also a big difference in framing a vintage, stylistic poster from the golden and silent age of film vs. something like this. LOL!

If I walked into your house, I'd think you were a young guy into movies. And you are. Own it. Quite frankly, I'd probably have a bigger problem with a glass coffee table as opposed to framed vintage posters, : )
That being said, I think I'd have a bigger problem if the posters were in the bedroom. I have no idea why. I think posters in a bedroom (even if framed) would just scream teen-aged boy. Eh, that's probably just me.
At any rate, I'd definitely use more than just framed posters to decorate. Screenwriter + framed movie posters everywhere = singular interest = a little boring. I think you should definitely incorporate some of your other interests in your decorating.
As Ohiogirl81 said, if they are taped on the wall, then yes, you are too old for movie posters. But if they are in nice frames (NOT cheap plastic frames) then go for it.
I have framed posters from the first three Star Wars movies--first-run, first edition, unfolded, no damage except the pinholes in the corners. I've had them since the movies were first released--I begged from the theater managers. They ain't goin' nowhere.
