I have a friend whose husband did this and it turned out great. They made a LOVELY MUSIC CABINET.

That's brilliant. I have a stereo cabinet from the 60's that I have wanted to refinish for the longest time, but I'm afraid my skills aren't up to the task. They make it look easy here, but I'm not so sure that initial veneer removal and sanding were so easy.

That's awesome I love stuff like that. I've got a couple of pieces of old furniture. Wonder if I could make any into a TARDIS for my daughter. A wardrobe would be more fitting, but I have a small child size dresser that would be easier to work with.
