Since we went minimalist this year, it'll be easy-peasy. All we have is our tree decorated with white lights and pine cones, and our front door wreath.
Best. Christmas. Ever.
We only have the wreath on the front door and outdoor lights to remove. It is cold and windy today, and so I'm not nagging DH to get out there today to remove the lights.
Otherwise, the house looks normal, and I can't tell you how happy this makes me. I don't know why, but I am tired of Christmas stuff after about a month. Perhaps this is my brain getting me ready for a new year, I don't know.
I have an all purpose wreath ready to replace the red Christmas wreath. I am thinking of leaving the natural wreath on the inside of the exterior door a little longer. It looks nice there.
I haven't been told the official date yet (I guess it's Need to Know, Eyes Only information).
I casually mentioned today that I thought I might take the outside lights down this week and was met with..........absolute silence.
I did not look directly at Mrs. NBP but used my peripheral vision. The look I was getting scared me. And I used to fly jets.
That's pretty funny - so I guess the lights are staying up? LOL
I found one of those Star Shower laser light sets on sale after Christmas, so I may give that a try next year (if I don't forget where I put it.) The neighbors on either side of my house have lots of lights outlining their roofs and mine looks pretty dark in comparison. If it actually works it should look pretty until someone steals it. Or maybe I'll try it in the backyard next summer and see if it scares the raccoons.
