Or maybe you already have? I have artificial trees so no big hurry but I'll probably do it after New Year's Day. Meanwhile I'll enjoy the lights and sparkle for the rest of the week. How about you?

If I could, I would take them down the day after Christmas. I prefer minimalist decorations, but the family loves to go all out.
I am surrounded by every gaudy decoration imaginable, covering every space available. Bah humbug, it is really that bad, lol. Soooooo, the compromise is that all of our decorations go up the day after Thanksgiving and I get to take them all down on Jan 1. Can't. Wait.
Had too much to do this year and didn't get them up, so the "taking them down" part was easy. I've cut way back, generally I put up a lot of lights, get out my "ornament tree" and a few ornaments and maybe put up a wreath to get the fresh pine smell. The ornament tree comes down before the New Year and the lights come down some number of months later. White lights are very cheerful in the dark part of the year.
It depends on what day of the week Christmas falls. I generally like to do it the Sat and Sun after Christmas day but this year I will wait until New Years day.
Normally, I take them down on Jan. 2nd. However, this year we are having Christmas on the 2nd (that is when all the kids can get together). Didn't bother putting up a tree this year because our Christmas is so late. I just decorated the fireplace and hung a few things around. I will probably take them down on the 4th-after everyone leaves on the 3rd. BTW, there was one year we had Christmas in the middle of Jan. Don't think we put up any decorations that year.
Ours came down Dec 26th, just like always. They're up for 7~10 days every year, which is MORE than enough time IMHO.
Thankfully my wife is good on minimalist decorating, so there's only about 5 things outside (3 wreaths and 2 bows), inside we rock the old-school aluminum tree that has no ornaments and just a color-wheel, then an "ornament tree" that will fit about 20 pieces or so. A couple strings of garland and one short string of lights.. takes about 30 minutes up or down.
I just don't understand the folks who make such a HUGE ordeal, as I'm sure they don;t understand why I'd be just fine with zero decorations (or presents, it's supposed to be a celebration of faith and family IMHO).
Tree comes down 12 days after Christmas at old Christmas. Door decoration is a Winter wreath and will stay up until Valentine's Day since it is red flowers.
