Good morning!

Would anyone be able to confirm if this is a Rookwood fireplace from the photo attached? We would greatly appreciate it!

While it's hard to tell from a photo, I would bet the blue and white tile is NOT Rookwood. Looks to be more Delft style. If you google Rookwood Tile, most is more of a matte glaze and rarely a printed pattern.

I do not believe those tiles are Rookwood as the glazing is too uniform, like conventional ceramic tile. Rookwood pottery tiles seem to follow the arts/crafts tradition and if so, the tiles should have richness and subtle color variations within and between each tile. I could be wrong and maybe Rookwood did a tile like this, but it just doesn't feel right.

Those are definitely Delft tiles and they are still being made. Going by the look of the surrounding tiles maybe anywhere from new to 30-40 years old.

It does not look like it to me, but why don't you email the photo to rookwood.com?

We did email the photo to Rookwood with no reply. We are pretty sure it is Delft now, just curious if they have historical value, are they worth hanging onto?

Are you taking them down? I think the blue and white tiles look like Delft, but the solid blue tiles look wrong next to them. If you take them down, you could try putting the Delft ones on ebay and see what happens.
