I've been researching rustic minimalist tables lately. The real hardwood freeform dining tables are pretty expensive and I have to save long enough to afford one. I'm thinking either I wait until I can collect enough dough or I get into a little adventure of DIY. There're plenty of models out there and they're apparently all different since they're called live edge or rough cut.

I guess the important part is to get the two sides in rough rustic edges and glue the planks together. But the edges have to be smoothed out, which could be time consuming. The sanding, staining, varnishing part should be standard and the legs should be standard as well. Anyone has already done this?
