My single lady neighbor has them in her house. She claims they are a major pain to keep clean. The color shows finger prints where ever you touch them and clean up is constant. I guess it depends on how clean you like your house to look. I'm not a fan as it will be dated quick.
I have black granite counters, and they show EVERY finger print, smudge, crumb and streak from wiping them clean. Same was true of a black fridge I once had, and black cars are Notorious for being the most cumbersome to keep clean/looking good. So no, I'd never do black anything. Function first, then form (and keeping them looking good/clean with minimal effort is a Function thing in my book).
Having black counter tops is a major pain to clean. Our house has them and they look sleek and beautiful when Clenbuterol but they show every speck of dust. Next time we will opt for something else.
I have black granite and they really don't show much unless you're right there and there's overhead lighting. There's flecks of gray so I just don't seem to notice dirt. Love, love love black granite despite its shortcomings.
If you plan to stay in the house until you die, sure. If you ever plan to sell, go ahead but expect to paint the cabinets and neutralizing the magenta before listing. Those are very taste specific and will severely limit your potential buyers.
If you contrast I don't see why black (wood) cabinets wouldn't work. Magenta I'd stick to backsplash
Only if the backsplash is only paint. Tile is hard to change once it's up and magenta won't be popular if you have to sell. Save the magenta for wall paint or accessories you can change easily. Black cabinets will suck the light out of the room the same way black appliances do, but really they aren't much darker than the cherry cabinets that we so popular for many years.
If that's what you like and you plan to be there for awhile, I'd go for it if you have a lot of natural light and a decent-sized space (it might be overwhelming in a tiny kitchen). When you sell, if you change all the magenta to white, a white kitchen with black cabinets won't be much different than a black kitchen with white cabinets and that would probably sell.
