Anyone use something other than a typical dresser to put your socks, etc in? If no dresser, what would you use?

Right now I am using a cubicle storage bin. Kind of like this (almost exactly like this). I have it in my small walk in closet. I just don't want the chest of drawers. Too much bulky furniture and I am trying to go more minimalist. It's not my favorite thing, as I'd really prefer it was an actual built in, but for now it serves the purpose while I ponder alternatives for fitting out the closet according to my tastes. I think I paid $40 for this diy assembly with 6 cubes. Not the best quality by any means...I paid extra for the actual cubes that go in the cubbies.

At my last place I used something along these lines and interspersed some collectibles in the open cubes. You can get cubes in almost any color, or use baskets instead of cubes.

I can't tell by your OP if you just don't want a dresser and you want an alternative or if you just don't want something as big as a dresser because you don't have enough room.

I have a tall antique armoire that has 2 doors on top that open up to 4 shelves so I can easily see everything at a glance (jeans, tops, sweaters, etc) and there are also 2 drawers on the bottom that I store socks, lingerie, etc. I can also fit cubes/baskets on the shelves to store socks, lingerie, etc if needed.

I also have a very lightweight thick cardboard 4 drawer small dresser that has like a vinyl quilted type covering that I love because it is very portable. It has stood up remarkably and has lasted me almost 40 years. Similar to these:

My closet is 12' wide and the middle 4' have a floor to ceiling closet organizer with shelves & drawers. Might that work?

Hubby keeps his socks and underwear in the bottom drawer of the bathroom vanity. We also have quite a few pull out bins in our closet. I like the idea of no dressers in the bedroom, if possible.

If you have enough closet space for everything, put a hang up shelf in there for socks and underwear. Put everything else except for your swimming stuff, on hangers. Put a plastic bin on a shelf to keep your swim suit.

I recall seeing several years ago in a "car" themed room a rolling tool cabinet as a dresser.

I got rid of a full sized dresser/mirror combo and instead have a 3 drawer nightstand on both sides of the bed. 6 drawers is more than enough.
