I spy the clock the wash over the mantle in your former home. Looks great there. And for those of us who ascribe to the theory of "go big or go home", I love it.
Kathryn, your room - while not my Arts & Crafts minimalist style - is very festive! Very nicely done.
Thank you - I probably will go a bit more understated this year - my dad just passed away and I'm sort of overwhelmed with estate stuff and the care of my mom, who has some dementia and other health problems. So I'm not feeling particularly festive, but of course I will do some decorating anyway.
I love Arts and Crafts style stuff, but more along the Bohemian "Art Jugendstihl" style as in Prague circa 1910 or so. WOOHOOOO!!!!!!
I run along the lines of Morris chairs and anything with Harvey Ellis inlays.
So sorry for your loss. My dad passed on a cold December day... the holidays were bleak that year.
Ahhhh, Arts and Crafts inlays - sweet!
I know what you mean about the bleakness of the holidays this year.
My dad passed away on a beautiful, brilliant fall afternoon. When I left his room at hospice, and stepped out into that bright sunlight, it felt surreal. Everything was so full of beauty and life - except for my dad. It still doesn't seem real to me.
