I am trying to buy an inexpensive desk for my home office. There are many of them on the market, but all customer review point to the same problems: hard to assemble, parts do not match, low quality, flimsy... Does anybody have a GOOD experience with such desk?

I could have written this post. About 25 years ago I bought a Saunder computer desk with a hutch and printer stand for $99. At the time, money was extremely tight and splurging close to $100 was a lot. It served me well and in fact, the computer that I am on right now still sits on that desk. However, over the years, it has dings, and such. It is only press wood after all.
I am now thinking of replacing it. I would like something a bit more higher end but of course that means spending $$$ for it. When I searched, Saunder seemed to be the most popular out there. Like I said, mine has lasted about 25 years but I'm not too sure if they make them the same way today.
We bought this from Target a few years ago. We wanted something that would fold shut when not in use. It seems pretty sturdy, I think it's pretty good quality for the price.
There are plenty of commercial grade furniture products that are very well made. They are mostly sold business-to-business and the costs are usually more than consumers want to pay. A five-foot desk with hutch may cost $500+. You get what you pay for....

Target and Office Depot are cheap stores in everything they sell, and if you are confused about that fact, you are of course going to be disappointed with your results. Any store that sells particle-board DIY furniture will be the same.
