Here's an article about other companies who do colorful appliances. I tend to mostly like colorful ranges. They've been common in Europe forever . . . especially the AGA range.
We have a Lacanche range in French blue and I love it. I don't mind stainless at all but did prefer something different. It is big and a focal point in our kitchen. Our style is more transitional. Stainless would be better for a fully modern sleek style.
In fact, getting a colored retro fridge for my kitchen remodel. I was in London recently and a friend had her place redone with a bright pink Smeg refrigerator and stainless stove and other appliances. Absolutely wonderful look-- very high end and individualized.
I've have a Smeg refrigerator for about 2 years now, love it. I really do detest huge monolithic fridge freezers that completely dominate regular size kitchens.
Mine is cream although I wish I had been brave enough and ordered the red however I can always have it resprayed.
Just to note I do have a full size freezer and another older fridge in the breezeway, the freezer is usually full and the fridge is mostly used for booze.
The issue is these things will look dated in a matter of a few years, and given the price of the appliances, it's not a cheap "fix" either. At least black, stainless (and sometimes white) are plain enough that doesn't condemn a kitchen 5 years from now.

How can a retro reproduction appliance NOT be dated? That is the entire point...
