I have a few of them from Michaels and Joanns that hold some of my current reading books and knitting/crochet projects, as well as one on my piano for the practice notation supplies. Honestly they've held up better than some of the baskets, which have cracked or been ripped up a bit.
I can't complain about the storage boxes really - they work quite nicely!
I use decorative book shaped storage boxes on the top of my bookcase, to bring the height up to the level of the top of the kitchen cabs, which are on the opposite wall, but which can be seen from the family room. It bothers me to have too many different furniture heights. The bookcase should really be about 5 inches taller than it is. So the "books" laid on their sides and stacked, bring up the height.
I use the books/boxes to store old greeting cards.
