I will move to my new apartment next mouth, and the light in dining room is broken.
So i need to buy a new one, i have no idea about home decor.
Do you have any idea or suggestion?
Is hanging light good? Where can i buy the less expensive and beautiful one?
Thank you!

Just a guess, but have you visited an IKEA?

First off, why are you buying a dining room light if it is broken? Your LL should be paying for that and replacing it for you, unless, of course, you broke it. But even if you broke it and need to pay to replace it, you really need to let your LL know that fact and either get an approval for what you replace it with (to make sure wiring, etc will support whatever light you replace it with) OR, the LL may already have replacement lights for it and require tenants to use certain lighting.

In other words, you may end up paying for more than the light once you move if the LL finds out you did improvements/replacements, etc without getting approval first.

Now, if you do have approval and it is your responsibility to replace the light and you have approval to replace it with whatever you want, then can you post pictures of your dining room and apt with dining table, etc so we have an idea of what might work there that will go with your tastes/furnishings/size of dining area, etc?

Definitely speak to your landlord before doing anything. If your lease states you cannot modify the apartment, you could get charged for installing the new light once you move out.

OMG, Is that true? I didn't know about that.
I already talked about that to LL. I took my naughty brother to visit the new place last week, then he accidentally break the light which in dining room(he loves baseball). Thankfully, the broken light is not expensive. So i talk to LL i will fix it up. LL was agreed.
Thanks for telling that to me.

Yes. Read your lease. If it says they do not allow modifications to the property, installing a hard wired light would count. Get written permission from your landlord before you do it. Otherwise, they can penalize you when you move out and charge you to uninstall it. And replace it.
