I just purchased a home with hot water baseboard heating, and I wish to hang panel curtains. For the sake of safety I'm thinking they need to be above the baseboard heating, but my husband says they don't get hot enough to cause a hazard. Can someone give me their 2¢?

Thanks

They don't get hot enough to start a fire. However, the curtains will direct the heat towards the window.

If you have kids the registers will melt the candy bars they hide there after Halloween to keep them away from their siblings.

Thanks, NBP! I think you've answered a question I had in the past as well, prior to my visiting your adorable town for vacation a few summers ago.

It would be sensible to make the drapes stop just above the heaters. You don’t want to block the air circulation. Either that, or at the bottom of the apron.

Call me ignorant, but what is the apron?

Ignore that, I realized you must have meant the window apron

Fire chief here recommends 18 inches above the source of heat.

I remember this exactly.
It was a Sugar Daddy after having a few licks.
