That thread about picking new dishes got me thinking maybe someone here could help me or point me in the right direction.
About 5 years ago I bought a full set of china off of Craigslist. I bought from a woman in her mid to late 70s. She told me it had been her mother's set from when she first got married. I absolutely love this set. I keep it displayed in my built ins for everyone to admire.
Off and on I have tried looking it up but always find nothing. Now I fully admit internet research is not my forte. You would think I would find something though.
Here is the pattern and the mark on the back.
I don't suppose this looks familiar to anyone? Or does anyone have hints on where to look that I might have missed. I have checked all the usual suspects!
I used to live relatively close to their main store....in NC.
it's a fairyland of dishes to look at, beautifully displayed....stayed for hours just marveling at them all....just gorgeous. They do crystal too.
Guy started the business when he could not find replacements for his own china. Now they buy from those who frequent yard sales, estate sales etc. and have grown to be a solid business.

Here you go. The manufacturer's mark says "Incognito".
Ugh! Thanks. I did check replacements.com but it didn't come up. I am hopeless!
Well oddly enough I still can't find anything on the company. I was curious on when these plates came out. At least now I have some more info to help dig.

I couldn't find anything about Incognito brand, nor Raymond's Inc. which is what the Replacements.com listing says.
But I think 70-80 years old sounds about right.
for instance, here are a couple of listings for sets that are from the 1940s. Not the same pattern, of course, but I think definitely the same era, with a very similar feel.
