I need alot of bed side storage or the side of my bed ends up looking like a mess. Im not a hoarder but between meds, essential oils, a diffuser, books I am reading, my bottle of water, alarm clock/alexia, etc, it gets out of hand. I was thinking of getting these:
I am thinking about getting a dresser that is in the same style as these items but a strongly saturated color...too much? These are what I would be building off of for the rest of the room.
I love the wood on those items and I think the bed is beautiful. I also like the table thingies - however, I think one on either side of the bed may take away from the bed itself. I think they are more "stand alone" pieces.
Have you considered bombe chests instead of night stands, on either side of the bed? Since it's a king sized bed, you can have some oomph there if that makes sense. By oomph I mean substantial size. You could even possibly do a small chest of drawers on either side of the bed.

I second this type of suggestion. I think the big, tall piece the OP showed is a little too much next to the bed. Personally I also don't like things feeling like they are hanging over me while I am sleeping.
I agree with the other posters. The bed is lovely. The idea of placing a tall unit of open shelves on either side does not fly with me.
Nightstands with drawers seem the way to go, as far as I’m concerned. I think your shelves would contain visual clutter, if used the way you intend. To me they seem better suited for display of decor.
Yeah I was thinking the shelves would cause a closed in feeling or just sort of odd looking. For extra storage I could just use something under the bed I could pull in and out as needed.
Im really having trouble getting inspired about my bedroom. Its the next on my list and I should put effort into it...but I cant seem to get the spark

I try to eliminate extra spaces to dust and display nicknacks. I am all for a minimalist look that takes least effort to look tidy. So, I do prefer stuff being hidden. In drawers.
To me, your mid-mod bed (which is beautiful) looks very Shaker. You might think of using some Shaker nightstands with it. At least, it would give you more options.
