I've used Home Depot for flooring, both tile and carpet. I was extremely pleased each time. I'm wondering if I should look into their painting services. Anyone here have any thoughts or is it better to get the interior painted with a painting company?

Home Depot doesn't employ any of those people. They recommend vendors service. You got lucky with yours, because lots of times their foreman employs day workers for minimum wage, so it could be hit or miss.

Yes, I agree with Elnina, I have bad experience with Home Depot services. The tile looks unsymmetrical and have this vacant beneath some tiles which would cause them to break.

When you have so many other unbiased avenues to get a painter why go with HD? IF you have a major paint store nearby, i.e. Sherwin William or Benjamin Moore, they know painters. Ditto for Angies List (now Home advisor). IF not try Next-door. Ask neighbors. HD does not give a rats patootie about a sub contractor.

Ultimately... that is all that matters.

If it is... it's for the same reasons to choose a flooring installer.

Maybe in YOUR area (wherever that might be) the contractors who work for HD are top notch?

No. Find reliable painters through referrals or a place like Angie’s List.

HomeAdvisor owns Angie's List.
HomeAdvisor does ZERO vetting.

When I was looking for exterior painters, I looked at neighborhood houses currently being painted (there seemed to be a lot that summer). Since I went for a walk every day, I could see what kind of prep they were doing, and the finished result. Took pictures of their vans with my phone for contact info. Extra bonus - I knew they worked in my area, which is a problem we sometimes run into.

We’ve had good luck using Angie’s List. Are you saying the reviews there are not relable?

I am saying that Angie sold her business to HomeAdvisor.
Angie's original business model of "consumer pays" did not work out financially.
Now, it is "contractor/advertiser pays".
HomeAdvisor is rumored to remove negative reviews. That is why I prefer Yelp.
