Do you like the countertop? Is there a reason you don’t replace it?

Electrician4you, thanks for the photo and offering to send me a sample. I've seen it at the tile store. It also looks like tumbled marble. It looks a bit too yellowish and looks to have a bit of beige in it. That type of tile would possibly work if I could find the right color that would go with the countertop. I will have to keep looking for something that is the right color and actually goes with the countertop. Wish this wasn't so difficult. When we redid the kitchen I goofed when picking the countertop. I thought it was a more rusty brown color and it wasn't cheap, so it stays unfortunately.

https://www.amazon.com/Art3d-Kitchen...DTT8CK5XFEWNEX Have you thought of Mother of Pearl. The tile has shade variations in the colors you choose. As you can see there is pink, purple in it.

I see what you mean. It looks yellowish because of the under counter light bulbs were a soft white but that was the bulb they cam with. i have since changed to brighter white as they burned out. The color is more like coffee with a lot of milk in it. More like a light tan or sand colored.

It’s gonna be really tough for you because you have a rustic look but it’s on the darker side of the color spectrum. You go with a darker backsplash it will make it more dingy looking. I would get a lighter backsplash to get some reflective light from your under counters. Right now it’s bright because you have a white background. If you go to a dark backsplash it won’t reflect the light but it will suck up the light and make the kitchen look less lit.

OP - I don’t know where you live, but check to see if you have The Tile Shop in your area. I’d spent a couple months looking for backsplash tile online and was frustrated. I took a kitchen drawer and a sample of my countertop to their store and it made a huge difference to see tile in person. The employee I worked with was super helpful and really paid attention to what I wanted while pulling suggestions. An hour later tile was on order.

Hope you find what you’re looking for. I know how frustrating it is!

I'very been to the Tile Shop, but didn't think to bring an extra price of the countertop and bringing a drawer is a good idea. Maybe that's what I will have to do. Thanks!

Ideas for behind the range? Anyone think real antique ceiling tile would work? If so, which tile and color? Thinking something not too busy if I were to go with it. Really big tiles? small tiles? Anyone have tin tiles behing your stove? Photos? Or should I look for something else?
