I think cp102, and others are onto something when they suggested something with bronze or brass under the mirror. I wouldn’t go too contemporary. Remember that “shine” is a component, just like style and color. You don’t just want matte painted everything. It would look dull.
I’ve also been thinking that you might want rethink the mirror until you have the more important “bones” of the room worked out. An accent piece, like a mirror would be something I would choose last, not first.
I'm still at it ;-). So which coffee table will go better with linen entertainment center and oatmeal sofa. I will not be buying the sofa table. I also thought about cocktail ottoman. something like see pic

I would go with a burnished metal table under the mirror. One that mirrors the style/lines of your other pieces and isn't too modern. Seeing your stair rail in the background plus all that cottage-style wood, I would not add MORE wood.
You took the words right out of my fingers!
I would definitely mix up the finishes and I would not add more wood. I like the idea of a metal and glass table under the mirror, and I would consider a cocktail ottoman rather than a wood coffee table.
You can go very narrow with a table under the mirror, if you like. I do like the mirror a lot. It can also stand alone (or rather, hang alone) if it's large enough on the wall.
Thanks - we have two of them, one in each living area, and we love them.
I realized the other day that we actually have hardly any wood in our living room.
Post pictures!!!!!
Oh we just got our most recent cocktail ottoman at Havertys. It was special order but it came in about a gazillion different fabrics. We can store things inside it too. I love it. It was no more expensive than a coffee table would have been.
