This is when I have Christmas envy. It takes me about an hour to get the boxes upstairs!
We have stairs rather than a pull down ladder up to our attic, thank God. From the garage. I have a pile of filled boxes at the foot of those stairs. I've decided that every day I will take two boxes upstairs. That should put me done in a few days. I was going to do it all in one day but thought "Why on earth am I doing this to myself?"
We have a beautiful little 3 ft high fence about 100 ft long. I strung a row of mini lights all along it. I took those down yesterday as well as the window lights. We have a nice living 6 ft tall Alberta Spruce that looked great with lights on it. Took those lights down today. I'm done!
The nice thing about not having a tree is not having to take it down. The only thing we did was put our Christmas cards on the mantle. They will be very easy to take down.
I will have the lights down Wednesday in about 30 minutes. The 3' artificial tree and the 4 stockings will be in the garage in about 2 minutes. Pretty easy cleanup!
My daughter and SIL flew home the morning of Christmas Eve, so I started packing decorations on Christmas and took the tree down on the 26th. Some things are still piled in the spare room waiting to be boxed, but I want to take some time to go through and purge the decorations I no longer want. The outdoor wreaths and lights are still up, but will come down by next weekend.
