Not sure what you would call this type of brick style, but what do you think?

For a dwelling where that existed and it was original, I could understand the charm.

For a new build or remodel? I can't imagine wanting to put that down in a kitchen, largely because it just seems like a mess to keep clean in a kitchen. But maybe that thought is biased since it strays so far from my aesthetic tastes.

Sunbather said it well. IF you like the look you must be willing to do the work in terms of cleaning. I am always cleaning my kitchen floor so I personally would not want to clean real brick.

There are porcelain “bricks” out there.

I have a friend with the Chicago 4x8 Wrigley in her kitchen and it is gorgeous. It looks like “real” brick, but behaves like regular porcelain tile. They used a grayish grout, sized to resemble mortar.

Kind of hard on the cook’s feet, no?

I don't like it all. It would be pure hell to try and clean. No thanks.

Aesthetically I like the look but not in that kitchen.

Practically, as mentioned above, cleaning it and standing on it would be so not fun.

That would be my only objection. I like the look, and don't agree that it would be hard to clean. But would I want to be standing on brick for hours while I bake Christmas cookies? Nope. That's why I'm not a big fan of tile in the kitchen, either.
