Your examples are beautiful, but normally it makes me think a DIYer was too lazy to cut around the trim.
Yes - that's what comes to my mind too. I think of someone using one of those "As Seen on TV" paint spray containers. I generally don't like the look at all but the rooms in these photos are nicely done.
It makes me feel boxed in, I don't think I could handle it in person unless the room was a fairly large one.
I have the same impression with the examples the OP provided. The larger bedroom feels spacious, while the smaller sitting room feels a little claustrophobic.
OTOH, I think, that to paint the trim a contrasting color would look to "busy" in either room. There's just too much trim to allow for that. It looks fine all one color, though. Elegant, even. Painting the ceiling of the smaller room a lighter color might open it up some, possibly.
It's the least odd thing about that room, honestly.
(Just the two of us... we never invite anyone over while we're watching our tiny TV)
Lol!
I'm really not sure how I feel about it. I do like the color, and I don't hate the examples in the photos, but... not sure. I know I wouldn't do it myself.
It's a trending look. Done right, it looks great. Paint the trim satin or gloss, the walls eggshell or flat, and lighten the paint 50% on the ceiling.
