i had this furniture in my bedroom at home growing up that is creamy white with gold trim. my mom thinks the name of it is "dixie" but i'm not sure. i saw this on craigslist that i'm pretty sure is the same stuff. the owner says her furniture says "henry link". when i google the names, lexington furniture comes up w/ both brands. Four Piece Bedroom Set (broken link) (mod, i promise i'm not trying to sell this, i'm just asking for help!)

is anyone else familiar w/ this furniture and if so, do you know what the real name is and where i can get more of it? i'd like a complete set.

thank you!

I don't know the real name, but you can get it at pretty much every garage sale in California I think. Or the attics or basements of all of your childhood friends parents? I don't know about you, but I had either that same furniture, or something very similar, and so did just about everyone I know. I see it all the time, so it shouldn't be too hard to complete your set. Actually, you know where I've seen it quite often- thrift stores- consignment shops or Goodwill type places.

Good luck. Hopefully someone else can help you with the name brand. My guess is that more than one company manufactured a similar style during the same era, or else the same company sold them under different names.

I used to sell this line, LOL, and yes, it is now Lexington Furniture. That was back in my college days, 30 years ago, so I have no idea that it is even being made any longer. Just so happens my son's g/f sold hers at a yard sale last year! So it is out there . . . even if not currently being manufactured.

Try googling "white french provincial bedroom" or "girl's french provincial bedroom" or "girl's white bedroom furniture"

I had a whole set of that stuff when I was little! Right out of the Sears catalog. It was a 5-year-old girl's dream come true.

When I was in college, my sister painted it over with black enamel. LOL

i want to paint it out and i think it would be so shabby chic and cute! high gloss black would be fun too....options, options. nonetheless, i hope to find a few more pieces in my set. it was actually my aunt's growing up in her room and then she gave it to me - so it's pretty old but has held up really well! thanks again everyone!
