I updated after I posted. It's a little crazy for us to decorate at all, but it's fun.

Maybe the key is to just use strong fake trees and zip tie unbreakable ornaments on so they can't come off and let her have fun.

I'll keep that in mind. In the meantime, we just deliver the family ornaments to our daughter's house and celebrate there. She does not have a cat.

Our theme this year is spiders. Huge spider web with lights, lots of smaller webs, lots of spiders big and small.

I'm a buzz kill with decorations. I have one pumpkin out front.
The only thing I do at Christmas time is put up my little wrought iron tree with my favorite ornaments.

I have an orange safety cone and yellow caution tape on my damaged brick steps. They're nice and bright and should keep the trick or treaters away.

Two of my cats are black, and a couple more are orange does that count?
I don't decorate.

I stuck a pie pumpkin on the front porch. This weekend I'll bring it inside to roast it for Thanksgiving's pumpkin pie.

Perfect! And your clothes are decorated in orange and black as well!

We used to go all out decorating the yard for Halloween - graveyard, crime scene tape, giant spider on a spiderweb, all sorts of spooky things flying in the trees, lights, a lit Halloween tree, etc.

But with just me and dh at home, we kept it simple in 2022. Just a floaty ghost in a tree, some Halloween pumpkin and black cat stakes along the walkway, a battery operated light up pumpkin and a battery operated black cat that turns on and moves its head when someone walks by it. We also each carved a pumpkin and set it outside on Halloween night.

We'll do something similar in 2023, I'm sure.
