Get steps for the spices. I have mine in essentially those cabinets. The steps are expandable in some and not in others.

Those pull-down spice racks that mount in the cabinet look 'gimmicky', but they really are great idea. Might not work over the microwave (OP too short, electric or exhaust for the microwave in the way), but they're fine in a 'regular' cabinet as well.

Do you cook at all? Check out Rev-a-shelf products. Install one of their lazy susans for spices, condiments etc. One side I would have my spices, the other side my go-to condiments on another lazy susan. If you don't really cook much it doesn't matter what's in there.

Do you have a separate walk in pantry or pantry closet? Are those the only cabinets in the kitchen?

If you do cook, think about what you use all the time and put those items in there. Those cabinets are right by the stove.

You should check out Pinterest for kitchen cabinet organization. I think pictures would help you.

Glasses, mugs, paper products (paper towels, napkins, paper plates), To-go coffee/water thermoses, vases, coffee stuff - pods, grinder, grinds, measuring cups, tea, Tupperware containers.

One side for everything that goes with coffee - coffee, grinder, mugs, travel mugs, ...
One side for spices - mine are in tiny shelves in doors, meassuring cups, timers, food gloves, safety glasses, ...
Add shelving to have exactly the amount of space items need, no stacking!
Keep dishes in the other cabinets.

Kitchen layout and organization is all about “geography”.

Dishes/glasses near dishwasher.

Cookware, spices, and other cooking related items near the stove/hob/range.

As to your particular query- perhaps this may solve part of your problem

Not only does it help with your stature inadequacy, but you don’t have to “remove” contents to find other contents hidden in the bowels of the cabinet- because this pull down shelf unit just drops outa the way.

I wouldn't store spices near a heat source - like the oven/range. The heat could affect the quality of the spices.

If that were the case- I’d be more concerned about the charred cabinet than the spices.
A little common sense go a long way…
