I was wondering, does anyone think porcelain faucet handles are an outdated decorating trend? My aunt decided to replace two old Price-Pfister faucets with porcelain handles with new modern Moen Genta waterfall faucets.
I don't see porcelain handles much in newer homes anymore. I see that some companies make retrofit porcelain handles for older faucets, so I wonder if those handles were even original to those faucets.

I like them too. And one of my bathroom sinks has porcelain handles. IMO, whether the style is in or out, sink handles are not that expensive to replace. If a new homeowner comes along, and doesn't like porcelain handles. They can change them out if they want.
Can you still get them with splines that match the spindle of the valve? Will a standard center screw still work? If the answers are "yes" and "yes" then I'd say NOT OUTDATED.

That’s called standard machining practices- making most all handles work with one particular stem.
They're fine as long as they coordinate with the rest of the theme and decor of the bathroom, if not the entire house.
"Outdated" is an idea that is mostly horse manure for home decor. Sure, there is an industry that would love for you to spend $50,000 every five years changing your home to stay "in fashion."
Find a classic theme you like to be surrounded by and stick to it as long as you like it.
