I like white cabinets but they have to have glass inserts in the uppers to make me happy. They can can be frosted, solid, or reeded glass. I currently have pickled oak cabinets that I hate and I am trying to decide what route I am going to go. White cabinets are lovely but since I have kids and don't know how well of a choice they would be.

DVKA, my kitchen looks almost identical to yours!
Same cabinets, the granite in mine is darker tho & I wish I hadn't let the builder talk me into using the same material for the back splash.
Yours is much nicer - nice contrast! My sink is laid out the same way; on angle w/ a top counter bar.
I have French patio doors (placed where your window is) that allow me to look outside to my yard.

I am drooling over the white kitchens, tho. They are all so bright & spacious feeling. If I knew then what I know now....

To the left of the windows is a patio door which leads to a covered deck over looking the woods.

Thank you for posting. It looks beautiful. I love the backsplash and I know have a better idea for the backsplash for my own kitchen to be.

Yep, that view looks so peaceful. I also like that you can see your fireplace from the kitchen.

I did not read every single response, but it is ludicrous to say white cabinets are out of style! One of the most popular kitchens is a cottage style kitchen with white cabinetry, lots of glass or open shelving with marble countertops. Usually this is paired with hardwood floors and lots of vintage lights along with a farmhouse sink. I think people are getting a little tired of the dark fitted cabinetry that makes the kitchen look like a cavern. I see people leaning more towards the unfitted kitchen with furniture style cabinetry and unique hardware. Even though I'm not a fan, I think the stainless appliances will be around awhile.
