what color is "a pine color"?

Are they stained or not?
if stained - light, medium or dark?
what shade - reddish. yellowish, etc?

What colors are visible from the kitchen? You have what sounds like warm tones on your cupboards and cool tones on the stainless steel. What is the floor? What are the counters? Take your clues from there.
Whatever color you choose, make it be dark enough to contrast with your cupboards. Get a bunch of paint chips from the store in colors that you are drawn to. Choose three that you think will look good. Buy a quart of each and test them out on the wall. Live with them for a few days and then choose the winner.
