I am interested if StarryEyedSurprise ever came up with a color for her green bathroom. From what I can tell from her pics, that is the same green I have in my master bathroom. We have lived in this house for over 10 years and I have been trying different things with that green and nothing works. Right now I am leaning towards painting the bare walls a stark white and accessorizing with a light coral (towels, soap dish, pictures, etc.). I am not interested in painting the tiles or re-tiling. Any other suggestions?
Several years after the fact, lol
I actually haven't finished this bathroom yet. We spent a LOT of time on other areas of the house, including a major kitchen and screened in porch recommendation. The only thing we accomplished in here was replacing the blinds and getting rid of the popcorn ceiling. This will be a summer project for me.
I am actually liking the suggestion of SW Macadamia, I'm glad someone repped the thread and made me aware of its resurrection!
I get what you're trying to do here and I am certainly an advocate of 'make the best' of what you've got. This appears to be in the 'sage' family - Find a lighter shade of green in the same family - 25% of the color depth? Your local paint store will understand. Then accent the bathroom with black. Botanical prints with black frames would be great. Add black hardware to the cabinet as well. It will look absolutely rich and 'in style'. go with a botanical shower curtain or a stripe of soft green, offwhite, beige.
Could you someday pull up the tile, and put pergo there? Or if not, go with a pale blue, green color
as the ocean? Green is my favorite color! Even now light lavender, blends with green. The wood can even be placed over the tile, and is not real costly to do. You also may get the 8000 which is to first time home buyers!
No, NO! No Pergo in the bathroom. Not a good product for any area where water is present.
Tiles look like dark olive to me, so I'd be inclined to make bathroom camel or darke taupe. I just painted an older bathroom Behr's Ultra in Chateau and it looks amazing. I couldn't believe what a difference it made.
