I have a wool rug that is shedding! Is there anything I can do? My floor looks like I have a pet that is shedding its hair. Is there some thing I can do to make it stop?

I've had new rugs & carpeting that shedded and the only thing I know is that your vacuum is your best friend.

Four words: New Zealand wool rug. Your lucky if they shed after a month of regular vacuuming. I made the mistake of buying other than a New Zealand wool rug because I thought it was a great deal and it shed, shed, shed. But after 6 months of frequent (every other day) vacuuming it was okay. What ever you do - don't use a Dyson Vac on a wool rug - it will suck the fibers right out of it

It is called "bearding" If it is a tufted carpet, the encapsulation issue.
If it is a woven product, it may need a shearing.

Wool is known to have a characteristic of bearding to some degree. You do not use a regular vacuum with a beater brush on wool carpets. It will card the fiber.(comb out)

I could have sworn, I posted to this topic already.

Recommend vacuuming, like everyone else. I made the mistake of cleaning a wool runner with one of those carpet cleaners (you get at the supermarket). Mistake--a bunch of hair came out.

I also own wool carpets that are vintage, old. Low pile. But there are no problems with these. They were made in New England I think.
