Acquired American Traditional antiques when my folks died, now looking to replace the wall unit I bought a decade ago at Fortunoff (good riddance).

Most of the stores I look at are expensive and not good quality, IMHO. Went to Ethan Allen on the weekend, the media center was made in Vietnam.

Thomasville and Raymour and Flanigan didn't impress me at all, and I hear bad things about the quality of Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel.

Any recommendations?

You might try Cherry House in La Grange. If you are going to discount all foreign made furniture, you will have a problem, as so much of what you see is made in other countries. Try Colonial Designs in St. Matthews (limited selection but lovely things).

OOPs - sorry - I had been on my local website (Louisville, KY) and forgot I had moved to Interior Design.....you might do a search for American made furniture.

If you can wrap your head around furniture by mail, 85% of Room and Board's product line is American-made. (Their web site will tell you which state a bed, sofa, or table comes from)
