I think the kitchen is beautiful! Love the stools! Personally I love the idea of having a different granite on the island. There is also nothing wrong with mixing up the light fixture and hardware finishes. At our old house we had oiled bronze light fixtures and satin nickel hardware and it looked awesome! (Wish I had pictures...) Anyway, great job!
Very nice job and good wall color. But I'd stay away from red fabrics because the oak cabinetry has red tones......did exactly the same myself once and changed out the red instantly! Think about pale silvery-green accents that would blend nicely with your sage dining room walls. I'd be inclined to hang a very simple, rough-textured cream Roman blind, perhaps with silvery-green binding, and repeat the same on the sliders. No crap on top of the cabinetry except for maybe a large architectural/art piece if you have the space. You have a very nice, clean-lined room and a lot of doo-dads, drapery and frippery would spoil the lovely effect you've created.
