Hi everyone. Happy Thanksgiving. I was wondering if anyone could offer suggestions-i only have 12 matching dishes and am setting a table for 21. Do you know of anyplace I could find very inexpensive plain dishes-we haven't done a holiday in a while and I want the table to look nice-i looked at target but it would still cost about 150 for all to match new. Thanks-

World Market has very inexpensive white porcelain dishes....I love white or bone colored dishes - then you can add a fun salad plate, colored napkins, etc.

If your not all sitting at one huge table (and even if you are) you can easily use different dishes and "theme" each table or area. It's more fun to look at than "matchy matchy" stuff.

If it's a one-time or special occassion need, why buy? Look in your phone book for party rentals. You can rent formal china, silverware, crystal, anything you need, for really cheap, and you don't have to wash them afterwards.... you just stack them back in the crate and send them back.

Here's an example of what rental places offer. 45 cents per plate.

LOL... I second (901)s post. Honestly, I can not imagine not using high quality disposable dinnerware for your Thanksgiving meal. I have never had anything but comments on my sensibility, at our large family dinners when doing so. We always use the full-sized plates and buy double the amount of dessert plates....and loads of plastic forks and spoons....heavy duty ones. Guilt free dining for the group and so much less clean-up for you! You can go to a dollar store for extra serving trays and platters though....quite inexpensive. So inexpensive in fact that you can afford to send the leftovers home on them.

It just doesn't matter if anything matches, as long as there are enough plates and stuff. Having a great feast with family and friends, now that counts.

Go to Dollar Tree. Bulk Kitchen & Tableware at DollarTree.com
It's actually cheaper than some of the Chinet out there (and nicer) and you can wash and save them for future use and you don't feel bad to send food home with your guests on them.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy the family, friends and food!
