I have a 10" wide window next to my front door. I opted not put blinds in it because I thought it would be kinda pointless. I am looking for some small drapes that can be hung with a tension rod or something simple. I've had a hard time find this online, any sources or other ideas? thanks
First I bought a cheap sheer curtain panel and cut the width to size, then put it on two cafe rods, one at both top and bottom of the sidelight. That kept the material taut and it didn't blow around when the door was opened or closed.
When I got tired of that look, I bought some glass paint and stick-on lead lines at a craft store and made "stained glass" of the sidelight window.
I think you're looking for "sidelight" curtains. I had a hard time finding those when I got my first house, which had two sidelights that the previous owners left wide-open (so everyone can see right into the house, no problem, at night -- ack!
I found them at some random internet store. But look up sidelight curtains specifically, you're likely to find the rods and curtains you need under that name.

Awesome, did a search for that and got lots of hits...thanks
I got my sidelihgt curtains from bed bath and beyond...they were about $14...plus the cost of the tension rod....easy and they look great!
Various colors too...I got brown to match our front door.
