I've used Benjamin Moore, California, and Glidden.

If you watch the reviews on Consumer Reports you will find that their ratings vary over time, so I suspect that all the brands change their formulas. This suggests to me that you can't always count on one brand to be consistently superior to other brands.

I also think that you shouldn't plan on getting a good paint job with a single coat, regardless of brand or color. The additional work involved in doing a second (or third) coat is always less than the work of repainting the whole room, or your dissatisfaction with a one-coat job.

Benjamin Moore!

Made the mistake of buying Bear paint from HD. It actually peeled off the walls even though they were prepped properly.

My husband loves Sherwin Williams because it goes on smooth and covers really nice. He only had to put one coat of paint on our walls because of the great coverage.

I just bought Ace Sensation for my kids bathroom.

was very pleased.

I know you said cost was not an issue... well, i just refused to spend $50 a gallon.

Most of my home is painted with Sears paint... wont use that again. very disappointed with how my walls look after 5 yrs.

I like Glidden. It's reasonably priced and really holds up well. I always do 2 coats though.

I don't mean that cost ISNT an issue, I just want to hear what people like regardless of cost. I'd rather NOT spend $50 a gallon, but spending $20 a gallon is equally scary in some way

There is no benj moore dealer here, I'm looking at Sherwin Williams or Behr, prettymuch. Unless Kilz at Walmart will work (that scary $20 price tag, I'm not sure what to think).

I hadn't thought about oil in the bathrooms. hmmmm....

What about paint that will hold up to sunlight? it's not overly bright in these rooms, but I don't like to keep the blinds closed either...

I'm liking Sherwin Williams over Behr. I figured they were all the same but they aren't.

I've also switched to Harmony because I started having a lot of trouble with asthma this year. Ohhhhh the difference. I've only had it on the walls maybe six months, tops, but so far I'm in love. And I was able to wash of a big smear of god-knows-what (I have a 2-year-old, I think it was probably crayon) without any effect on the paint.

our ACE here only carries ACE brand and Mythic. I was disappointed that they didn't have a better selection, ACE's usually do. My BIL works at an ACE and recommends their paint, obviously (or the Benj Moore that his ACE store carries). I've used ACE once and was impressed over the cheapie Home Depot brand I'd just been using, but I don't know if it stacks up against SW, BM, BEHR, etc. What do you all think?

Glidden is usually around $21 to $25 a gallon for eggshell finish, depending if it's on sale. I also like Behr, which is $5 off per gallon right now at Home Depot...
