Im moving in a couple weeks to a split-level home with a couple friends....im going to be moving into the basement area which is a den (oh geez...im bad with measurements...maybe 12x15? who knows! and theres an attached room that i was going to turn into my bedroom...which is bigger....probably 10x18?...the room im going to turn into a bedroom has cinderblock walls....does anyone have any suggestions as to what color or maybe brush technique to paint it so it doesnt LOOK like its in a basement or jail cell?
i have a sofa with a chaise, and a tv and aquarium for the den, but would love and appreciate anyones basement/bedroom makeovers....or if you know of a site that has good ideas and before and after photos. =)
i posted on here with photos of how i decorated my current apartment...im hoping to replicate my current living room into the den of the new place...hoping i have enough room. so once i move in and start painting, ill be sure to post photos of my before, after, and inbetween =)
Well, cement block walls are cement block walls. I would start by painting them a nice light color with paint that is made to seal out any moisture. After that, I would perhaps try some fabric walls. They used to do this a lot on Trading Spaces and it seemed to look pretty good when they did it.
It didn't where I was living at time--Helena, Arkansas, right on the Mississippi. I don't think it would. Besides, if it did, that would mean everything else would too.
